Do you need a flood insurance advocate? By Melissa Esham 1/1/2015 Since 2012 there have been lots of changes to the National Flood Insurance Program. It has been confusing for homeowners and policy holders. FEMA announced an Interim Office of the Flood Insurance Advocate on December 19, 2014. The advocate will be tasked with offering specialized assistance to citizens who have issues with the NFIP. The office will become permanent, but until that time, FEMA recommends that questions about your flood insurance be directed to your agent. Your agent will advocate on your behalf. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any questions on your flood insurance.
